This is the Cathedral of Learning - a building at the University of Pittsburgh (which is very near Carnegie Mellon, as well). It's a "cathedral" because Pittsburgh had a law that no building could be taller than the church steeple...

Here's David at a local Pittsburgh eatery. See the local Heinz ketchup on the table!

Barbara and David at her apartment. I like the brick walls (and the Texas license plate hanging on them!) She's holding her new armadillo, "Stripes the dog" (don't ask!)

Barbara's Roomba! A roomba is a vacuum cleaner that cleans by itself, using some neato AI algorithms (I assume...). It's also very cute and cuddly!

The building in the front is an engineering building, with the Cathedral of Learning in the background. The Cathedral is a great way to orient yourself around the university!

That evening, we went to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. This was in the butterfly exhibit - you can see a lot of butterflies in the picture!

A neat exhibit that let you control the height and colors of the water. I'm not exactly sure what this had to do with anything, but it looked nice!

I took a bunch of pictures from high in the Cathedral, but this is the only one that came out decently (and you may disagree as to how decent this one is)

A nice view of the Point State Park, which is where the three rivers that run through Pittsburgh (Allegheny, Monongahela, Ohio) meet.
