glad that's over with!

When I got up this morning it was 34 degrees out. (not a misprint) The high today (58) is lower than Austin's low tonight (67). The overnight low here is 36 with, and I quote, "Scattered frost possible".
But, the good news is that winter can't possibly be any colder than this, so spring must be just around the corner!
(I'll post about netflix prize stuff when I have some interesting results - spent most of the last few days crunching many number to end up with an RMSE not as good as what I already had. Grr.)

In Austin this morning (about 9:15am), I saw people doing landscaping work in hooded sweatshirts w/the hoods up and winter coats. I think "temperatures" are relative. It was cold here this morning too.
(Fingers crossed that it stays cool & dry for Ren Fest this weekend!)

Poor Austinites...we had a girl from New Mexico and a girl from Louisana go to Iowa State in my coed dorm. They both transferred after one winter because they didnt know a high of -10 (with windchill) existed. :)

You do know that it snows here sometimes, right?

teehee - 34 is the coldest? *wink* I know something you do not know (and no, I'm not left-handed). Get an LL Bean catalog and buy some Thinsulate jackets my dears. I don't want to see you be sick with cold and flu in the next 5 months.
*HUG* I am so jealous of those temperatures I could SPIT! ;)
