So I stumbled across this interesting survey about people's opinion of gays in sports. The results are about what I would expect - people are mostly OK with it unless you ask too much about it. Which means that if a major athlete in a team sport were to come out, he/she would probably not be welcomed by the public. Someday...

I'm trying out a new color scheme, all those who didn't like my last one and who thought the default one was "boring". At least this one isn't boring!

I guess I don't have much to say!

Then, once again..
Your color scheme sucks!

(You're not taking this as true feedback, are you?)

No, but I'm not thrilled with the color scheme anyway...

Ok, so I'm actually going to comment about the article. It frustrates me that people still seem to equate homosexuality with pedophelia. If you look at the stats on the bottom, the trend indicates that people are more comfortable with homosexuals being involved in adult (pro, college) teams than children's (little league). No matter how many times you read and hear from experts that homosexuality and pedophelia are very different beasts, people still freak out with the thought of a gay man coaching a team of underage boys. But they don't think twice about a heterosexual man coaching a team of underage (or teenage) girls. Grrr.

Disclaimer: I have not read the article.

Would it actually be that people are afraid of their kids being 'taught the wrong thing' rather than people being afraid of homosexuals being pedophiles? (Particularly since people *don't* freak out about a heterosexual man coaching a team of underage girls?)

*shrug*

My guess is that it's a little of both. Fear/ignorance about gays vs. pedophiles & not wanting a "bad" influence on children.

I've seen some stats that say gay men coaching underage girls is much more acceptable, leading me to think that a lot of it is pedophilia fear OR the irrational fear that seeing a gay guy in authority will turn their boys gay.

Um... well, I like green. And yet, it's kinda... RARRR! if you know what I mean. I liked the grey black and red, despite it being a little boring. And I didn't see the other one(s) that had been presented previously.
