We took a weekend trip down to San Antonio to visit SeaWorld. The hotel we stayed at had this neat display of current electricity use (as well as water use). Sadly, the historical display seemed to not work - I'd be very interested to see how far below

Periodically, people would come in and shovel the snow a bit. Snow falls a lot of the day from three holes in the ceiling, and then it has to be evenly distributed throughout the exhibit. Often the penguins would come over and check out what was going o

We then got to go behind the scenes! Here is some of the fish that they feed the penguins with - there are around 300 penguins that they care for, and they eat 300-500 pounds of fish per day! Most of the fish they just drop in the water in the exhibit -

We got to hold an unfertilized penguin egg, and touch some adult and chick feathers. (the chick feathers were very soft!)

Next we got to go right up to the snow in the penguin exhibit! Here are two curious penguins that hung around while we were there.

We then exited to cold, and got to meet a penguin up close! Her name is Maggie, and she waddled in from down the hall. She's a Magellanic penguin, and they generally live in...
